Welcome to my little corner of the Internet where I share ways to practice and learn about yoga and movement with me. Thanks for stopping by!
Daya is a Sanskrit word that is often translated as empathy or compassion. I was drawn to this word because I strongly believe that the world would be a much better place if everyone was a little more compassionate towards themselves as well as all other beings.
I’ve been teaching yoga since 2016 after completing my first 200 hour yoga teacher training based on the Sivananda yoga method. This training opened my eyes to all different aspects of yoga, not just the physical practice, and taught me how to implement yoga teachings into everyday life.
As I was gaining experience teaching yoga I noticed that I was longing to learn more about the human body and the science of movement. In my search for more knowledge, I stumbled across Lara Heimann, a physical therapist and a yoga teacher, who is the brains behind the LYT® yoga method - a practice that incorporates functional movement into yoga and uses “smart” yoga to optimize one’s movement patterns. I quickly became hooked, realizing the benefits of this practice in my own body. LYT® method is all about moving in the best possible way for your own body and teaching practitioners how to do this both on and off the mat. This, to me, shows Daya towards our own bodies. Learning how to move well makes us feel better and this translates into wanting to do better and be better humans in general. I have since completed the 200 hour and 300 hour teacher training programs with Lara.
On this site, you will find three different ways to practice LYT® yoga with me; 1:1 private sessions, on-demand videos where you can practice on your own time, and occasional live online yoga classes. If you want to know more about the LYT® method before you sign up, send me an email through the ‘Contact’ page or connect with me through Instagram or Facebook, and I will be more than happy to answer any questions that you might have.
Happy movement!
